- Wisconsin Health Insurance Cost Rankings 2009 - This is the 3rd annual report on Wisconsin metro and regional health insurance costs. There continues to be wide cost variations between higher and lower cost areas of the state. There is a 22% variation between the highest cost major metro area (Eau Claire) and the lowest cost metro area (Madison), which amounts to a $4,146 difference for a family policy and a $1,659 difference for a single policy each year. Good Deal: How Healthy Wisconsin Improves the Bottom Line for Working
Families (March 10, 2008). New Citizen Action report shows that if
Healthy Wisconsin were enacted the typical Wisconsin family would save
between 40% and 60%or from $1,300 to $4,100 per year over what they are
paying now for health insurance coverage. Healthy Wisconsin is the
bold heath care reform plan which passed the state senate but was

Scouting the Presidential Candidates (February 14, 2008) Citizen
Action analyzes the health care plans of the major presidential
candidates just ahead of the pivotal Wisconsin primary. Report
Families USA Report: Too Great a Burden (December 13, 2008). Report
finds that over 1.2 million Wisconsinites live in families that pay
over 10% of their income for health care, and that 322,000
Wisconsinites live in families that pay over 25% of their incomes for

widely quoted Citizen Action report ranks Wisconsin’s major cities and
regions on health insurance costs, finding a large disparity between
